It’s been a while since I last wrote something on here. I’ve been working on being more intentional with my time, but honestly I kind of missed keeping my 3 readers updated. 😉

I figured, why not start getting back into writing by talking about the thing I love most: skincare.

Especially, since things are much different now since my last skincare post. I was in my 20’s when I wrote that one and quite frankly, a lot of things have changed. The products I use are different as well as the supplements and techniques. I can whole heartedly say I receive more compliments on my skin now that I’m in my 30’s than I ever did when I was in my 20’s. That alone should tell you something!

Let’s start off with the most important part of skincare: gut health + supplements.

If you’ve been following me for a while, you know I’m an oily greasy chicken face girly that has endured hormonal break outs my whole life. It wasn’t until I focused on making subtle changes to my diet that I started to notice a difference. I started eating more fermented foods (like kimchi) and incorporated probiotics into my diet (through yogurt). It was those little additions to my diet + my secret supplement where I truly started to see long term effects of acne-free skin.

This supplement I’m going to share is one that I firmly believe was the cherry on top to my flawless skin. I found it online after doing thorough research and loved that the ingredients were all clean and great vitamins. These supplements are Pore Favor’s Acne Supplement.

I’m currently on my 18th bottle (and counting) so believe me when I say that it works. It’s two little white capsules that you take every morning with your breakfast and that’s it. It took about 2 months of consecutively taking these supplements in order for me to start to notice a difference in my skin. My favorite part was that I didn’t have to get on anything aggressive, like accutane. I’ll post a screenshot of the ingredients below so you can see what exactly is in these pills:

Best part of all is Pore Favor guarantees results or your money back in 90 days. There’s no side effects to these pills either, like burping or nasty after taste. My refills also come in portable white ziplock baggies so I use those for my travels.

Now that we’ve covered the internal, let’s move on to the fun stuff: skincare.

One of the biggest differences in my skincare from my 20’s versus now is that the products I use now are much cleaner and Korean! I actually just revisited my old skincare blog post and couldn’t believe I used to use those things. No knock to those brands, but if you have the Yuka app and scan those products today, you’ll see just how carcinogenic they really are. I’m much more intentional with what I put on my skin, or I try to be at least because some things I just can’t give up (yet).

Let’s start off with the cleaner I use:

I have to give a shout out to my sister for putting me on this gentle probiotic face cleanser. It’s not available on Amazon, but you can find it at Olive Young, which is one of the biggest retails in South Korea for skincare. They also ship to the US now! Also, you can’t beat the price! It’s only $15.17 right now.

One thing I’ve learned in my 30’s is you don’t need the most expensive skincare to have great skin. Just find what works best for your skin type and roll with it.

On days where I’m feeling lazy and don’t want to cleanse my skin, I just use one of these pads and gently swipe it all over my face in the morning:

Depending on my skin, I’ll alternate between the blemish pads or the vitamide brightening or the retinol pads. They’re all great and don’t break the bank! Yuka rates these 72/100, which is a good scemi-clean ingredient score!

For moisturizer I use the most hydrating and delicious gel like cream:

This Torriden Soothing Cream is one of my favorites to use, especially on days where I will be flying and need extra hydration. It leaves your skin looking supple and glowy. Yuka rates this 93/100 so it’s damn near perfect in the clean ingredient list!

For recovery days where I do microneedling or more invasive work on my skin, I use my little french ride or die:

Now, this is one of those things that doesn’t have the best ratings on the Yuka app, but I will turn a blind eye for it because it is sooo good and healing for my skin barrier. Yuka rates it a 36/100, but I can give you 36 reasons on why I love this for my skin.

For eye cream, I needed something anti-aging and creamy so I started using this:

Also from Korea 😉 but can be purchased through Amazon as well. It has a nice white applicator that you can use to apply the cream so no fingers needed. I’ve even started using it on my smile lines because it works so well!

And now, the most important part of skincare: sunscreen!!!

I’ve used this sunscreen for years and it’s become a staple in my household. It’s the Round Lab Birch Juice Moisturizing Sunscreen. You have to make sure that when you purchase this, it says, “SPF 50+ PA++++”. Sometimes it’s hard to find this exact one in the US because the FDA hasn’t approved advanced filters that protect better against UVA/UVB, but the one I linked on Amazon is the correct one. It’s super light weight and creamy and leaves no white cast. Also, no harmful carcinogens (like most of the US based sunscreens you find in stores).

Every now and then I’ll include vitamin C into my skincare routine and when I do, I always run for this one:

The Medicube Deep Vita C Capsule Cream is the most effective vitamin C I’ve used and it’s the only one that has actually diminished my old scars and brightened my skin tone overall.

I’m happy to share all the things I use because I, too, have been in a place where I didn’t feel confident in my own skin because of painful break outs. I know what it’s like to be on the other side and I only wish I had guidance and not just pharmaceuticals as an option. If you’ve read this far, know that there is a light at the end of the tunnel and you can always email me if you need anything. 🙂

xo, Stew
